Understanding Production Chains

Production chains are the foundation of SimCity BuildIt's economy. Every complex item in the game is built from simpler components, creating intricate dependency networks that successful mayors must master.

Green Valley (Basic Region)

Green Valley is your starting region, unlocked from level 1. It contains the building supply store, farmer's market, hardware store, gardening supplies, donut shop, and fashion store.

Raw Materials (No Dependencies)

  • Metal (1 minute) - Used in nails, hammers, measuring tape
  • Wood (3 minutes) - Essential for planks, chairs, furniture
  • Plastic (9 minutes) - Required for textiles and electronics
  • Seeds (20 minutes) - Base for vegetables, flour, plant materials
  • Minerals (30 minutes) - Used in cement, bricks, construction
  • Chemicals (2 hours) - Specialized material for advanced items

Tier 1 Items

  • Planks (30 min): 2 wood
  • Nails (5 min): 2 metal
  • Bricks (20 min): 2 minerals
  • Cement (50 min): 2 minerals + 1 chemicals
  • Glue (1 hr): 2 plastic + 1 chemicals
  • Paint (1 hr): 2 metal + 1 chemicals

Tier 2 Items

Sunny Isles unlocks at level 30, focusing on beach items and tropical products.

Frosty Fjords is the last regional unlock at level 40, specializing in winter sports equipment.
