SimCity BuildIt Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about SimCity BuildIt strategies, production planning, and the SimCity Manager tools.
About the Calculator
How does the Production Calculator work?
The calculator automatically calculates all material requirements for your production goals. When you enter a "Want" value for any item, it analyzes the entire production chain and determines every raw material and intermediate item needed.
Do I need to create an account?
Yes, creating a free account allows you to save your inventory data, manage multiple cities, and sync your data across devices. You can sign in with Google for quick access.
Is this calculator approved by EA?
SimCity Manager is an independent fan-made tool and is not affiliated with Electronic Arts (EA) or the official SimCity BuildIt team.
Production Strategies
What should I produce overnight?
Queue items with the longest production times: chemicals (2 hours), textiles (3 hours), paint (1 hour), glue (1 hour), and cement (50 minutes).
What are the most profitable items to sell?
Regional items generally offer the best profit margins. Concrete from Limestone Cliffs, furniture from Cactus Canyon, and winter sports equipment from Frosty Fjords sell at premium prices.
Regional Factories
When should I unlock regional factories?
Unlock Limestone Cliffs (level 15) first for building materials. Cactus Canyon (level 20) is essential for furniture. Sunny Isles and Frosty Fjords can wait unless you're farming premium items for trade.
Services 2.0
What is Services 2.0?
Services 2.0 lets you upgrade service buildings like fire stations, police stations, hospitals, and power plants instead of placing more buildings. Each upgrade increases coverage area and capacity.
Why are my buildings abandoned after the update?
Abandoned buildings appear when service coverage drops below what citizens need. Check each service category to ensure all residential zones are covered. Upgrade service buildings to expand coverage.
